How do we work?
The CVS consists of representatives of voluntary organisations and statutory bodies who are working in the area. It provides a forum for exchange of ideas and evaluation of services. An Executive Committee formulates policy which is then put into effect by professional staff working through special committees or working groups.

Membership
CVS. Member organisations pay a small annual affiliation fee. In return the organisations gain access to our services and an opportunity to play a role in community life in the area. Member organisations can appoint a representative to vote at Annual General Meetings and have the opportunity for representatives to be elected onto the Executive Committee.

The CVS provides the following services:

  • Newsline - our bi-monthly newsletter
  • Photocopying and Word Processing
  • Publications - information is available on a variety of topics and we publish regular information sheets and leaflets for and on behalf of our members
  • Forums - regular forums are held relating to Care in the Community, collaborative planning and organisation of volunteers
  • Workshops and Training
  • Help - our staff can help with many of the problems your organisation may face, including fund raising.
  • Essential Handbook - A Good Practice Guide with factsheets and model documents
