Sexual Violence Support Worker

Female support worker required to offer generic support to anyone affected by sexual violence in Shropshire, including the Telford and Wrekin area. The post is for 25 hours per week, worked Tuesday - Friday during normal office hours, for the Independent Sexual Violence Advisor service operated by Axis. Salary £20,000 pro rata. Experience working with sexual trauma is preferred, although training will be given. Must be a car owner. Exception from the Equality Act 2010 has been applied for.

The post requires an understanding of sexual violence issues and the needs of clients affected by it, knowledge of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, active listening skills, good verbal and written communication skills including IT, and the ability to work independently and as part of a support team. Minimum of 5 GCSE or equivalent essential.
