FUNDING
Finding money for many groups is always an on-going struggle. As soon as one pot of money has been found, it's time to look for the next one! Staff at the CVS have different ways they can help with finding funding for groups.

The Funderfinder Programme for Groups in Need (GIN)
This programme has been purchased by CVS to help search for specific funding for groups. All your organisation/group needs to do is to complete a simple form (click here to download) giving as much detail as possible about what is required.
This then highlights the trusts or charities that might support your particular project. At the top of the list is the trust most likely to help and so on down the list. We usually give you the top ten charities from the search as this gives the best matches.
However, if you have no luck we can look again. We then search a further programme, which gives more detailed information about those particular trusts/charities. This may sound simple but remember, it's only the first step - your group will still have much work to do in further research and completing an application form or letter.
Apply Yourselves
This is a Windows application and will run on any PC using Windows. It was developed by Funderfinder to help voluntary organisations write effective funding applications.
What does it do?
Use Apply Yourselves to draft a letter or proposal to funders. As you write, click on buttons and text to get advice and guidance about what should go in your application. Or just use the checklists to make sure you haven't left anything out.
Once you've drafted an application you can print out your work or export it in Rich Text Format to your word-processing software for final polishing.
For a free copy of the disc contact the CVS.
Budget Yourselves
This was also developed by FunderFinder in conjunction with the Directory of Social Change and with financial support from the Government's Active Community Unit.
It gives organisations advice and information on all aspects of budget making, allows them to create a budget, link budgets together, and to compare their budget with actual income and expenditure. It is aimed particularly at small voluntary and community groups and those who find budgets daunting.
Anyone can make a copy of “Budget Yourselves” and it will work on any PC running Windows 95 or higher.
It can be downloaded from FunderFinder's website: www.funderfinder.org.uk
